NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — An assistant district attorney who is also the son-in-law of country music star Alan Jackson passed away after a boating accident.
Assistant DA Ben Selecman were severely injured during a boating accident and died from his injuries on Wednesday.
Selecman was only 28 years old.
Selecman was also the son-in-law of Alan Jackson. He married the country star's daughter, Mattie in Oct. 2017, according to Southern Bride magazine.
District Attorney General Glenn Funk said the DA's office is "thankful for every day that Ben had the opportunity to serve the people of Davidson County."
"Our prayers are with Ben's family," Funk said. "He will be truly missed."
